Due to the heat we had inside recess today!  We had a lot of fun together!

Today in Chinese we played hot potato with puppets to practice saying different countries!

Daily 5!

Today we practiced our Daily 5 rotations!  We worked through 5 different literacy centers.  The centers were word work, read to self, read to someone, work on writing, and listen to reading!  Talk to your student about what they did at each center today!

Everyday Mathematics!

Today 3Y students learned how to login into their Everyday Mathematics student account.  Check SPACE folders for information on how to login.  Attached to each packet is a student ID card that looks similar to the one in the picture below.  This card has your child's individual login and password.  Each account is private from other students so they will have to login each time.  If you lose the ID card just let me know and we will print another one! :). The games on this website are directly linked to what we are learning in math and are a valuable resource for students to use!  You can also print any lost homework from the student site!!!  :)

Are You....

This morning we worked on building our classroom community!!  We had to fill up the squares on our paper with people who were doing or had done the things in the boxes, such as went to a library this summer or that you are wearing tennis shoes!  There. Was only one catch....we couldn't talk!!!  We did an amazing job of using our acting skills!

Chrysanthemum

Yesterday we read the story Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.  After we finished discussing the story we got together and shared our interview information with our classmates.  Thank you parents for letting your student interview you about their names!!  They had a great time sharing the information you gave them!  After we finished sharing we did a word sort with out names!  We tried to see all the different ways we could sort the names of the students in 3Y!  We came up with ways such as, sorting by the beginning letter, if the name had an "e" in it, and even some other letter combinations!
