Valentine’s Day Boxes

Students will need to make their own Valentine’s Day boxes at home for class!  The only requirement is that it has a slot on top so that cards and possible treats can get in it!  Have fun and be creative!  Students can start bringing the boxes on February 1oth!

Valentine’s Day Party

We will be having a class Valentine’s Day party on Valentine’s Day from 2:00 to the end of the day.  We will be exchanging valentines at the party.  If students bring valentines they need to bring one for every student.  Students can start bringing Valentines on February 10^th.

Writing to Ruby Bridges

After watching a movie based on the life of Ruby Bridges when she entered school in 1960.  She became one of the first African American students to attend a previously white-only public school.  3Y was instantly curious about if Ruby Bridges was still alive today.  We found out that she is still alive and we decided to write her a letter!

Building a Flashlight!

Today we worked on planning how to build a flashlight with the materials we were given!

The Way West!!!

Pam Holtz from Washington County Conservation came to our class today!  We simulated a trip West!  We had to go to the store and purchase the goods to put in our wagon!  After we filled our wagon, Ms. Pam told us the story and what items we would need to successfully make the trip!  We had to check off the items if we purchased them to see if we would have survived the trip with what we had in our wagons!

We raced to make a snowman out of our partner!  You had to unravel one whole roll of toilet paper while wrapping your partner.  You had to add their hats and gloves, 3 buttons, and a carrot nose!
